Brigg Town's final pre-season friendly went very well. It finished 4-0 against Appleby Frodingham.
Brigg made three changes with Declan Jordan, Jason Pembleton and Tom Pearson replacing Paddy Shaw, Stu Longbone and Joe Moloney.
Brigg dominated the first half and were rewarded when Thompson scored shortly before half time.
In the second half Jamie Osbourne doubled the lead after good work on the right by Charlie Dolling.
Thompson then bagged his second goal before having a penalty well saved by Ash Ellis.
Late on Steve McCarron played in Joe Moloney, whose neat finish completed the rout.
Brigg's performance was terrific and so was the result! The Zebras were pleased to end pre-season on a high note.
Manager Lee Thompson was delighted.
"I was pleased to end pre-season with a win! If we play like that in the season we'll be absolutely fine.
"We won 4-0 and the final score didn't flatter us at all. Their goalkeeper played well and we could have won by eight or nine.
"Our passing, finishing, work rate and attitude was bang on! I couldn't have asked the lads for anything more.
"Everyone has worked hard this summer to prepare for the season. We're all ready now and can't wait to get started.
"We'll give it our best shot!"
On Saturday, Brigg host East Hull in the league (kick off 3pm).
