Brigg Town drew for the second time in three days. This time it was with Armthorpe Welfare.
This was only two days after a 2-2 draw with Hallam. Hallam and Armthorpe are good so Brigg did well not to lose either game.
The draw with Armthorpe wasn’t a classic by any stretch of the imagination. Chances were few and far between at both ends.
Armthorpe began brightly and were rewarded with an early goal. Seconds after Wayne Brook’s shot struck the left post, the ball was played back in and fell kindly for Luke Williams to score.
Brigg equalized on 44 minutes when Jonny Nicholls squared for Jake Crossland to fire home.
There was very little to speak of in a goalless second half. Brigg’s performance was good though and they earned another point.
Assistant manager Simon Roach was reasonably pleased.
“It was another okay result – we’ve only lost one in six this month. Bolsover lost so we’re only two points behind them with a better goal difference.
“We weren’t great in the first half, but equalized just before half time. We then shaded the second half to earn a point.
“The game wasn’t very entertaining and there weren’t many chances. Our performance wasn’t bad though.
“Jake Crossland was our man of the match. He was good on the ball, worked hard and took his goal well.
“A draw was probably a fair result.”
On Tuesday, Brigg visit Yorkshire Amateur in the league (kick off 7:45pm).
