Brigg made no fewer than six changes for this cup match. Sam East, George Merrick, Matty Davies, Jack Tierney, Tom Pearson and Adam Gowing replaced Joe Smithson, Chris Rodgers, Will Forrest, Joe Taylor, Joe Moloney and Jake Reed.

Crowle's Ryan Bonser scored after just 7 minutes. Brigg soon equalized through Reece Moody in the 17th minute.

Before half time Ben Simpson was dismissed for headbutting Moody.

In the second half Crowle didn't play badly with ten men.

They were unable to prevent the winning goal though. It came on 77 minutes when Tierney played in Jonny Nicholls, who fired into the top right corner.

Afterwards Nicholls thought he'd scored again. However, that time his goal was disallowed for an alleged offside.

The linesman didn't put his flag up so it was a surprising decision. It hardly mattered though as Brigg held on to book their place in the next round.

There's still a long way to go, but Brigg are one step closer to cup glory.

Assistant manager Simon Roach was satisfied.

"This wasn't the best of games, but we managed to win. It was hard against a strong side on a scrappy pitch.

"Players were rotated and we had good substitutes. One of them was Jonny Nicholls, who was our match winner.

"Crowle played fine even after their red card. So did Wyberton in our previous match - teams can still give us a close game with ten men.

"The Lincolnshire Junior Cup is special to us. We'd be absolutely delighted if we won it.

"Roll on the next round!"

On Saturday, Brigg visit Lincoln United Development Squad in the league (kick off 3pm).
