Rhys played for Wortley Boys from the ages of 6 up until he was 11 when signed for Leeds United academy. He spent 5 years there before unfortunately being release at the age of 16. At this point Jenkinson signed a scholarship at Bradford City and played there until the age of 18. He was lucky enough to play in the 3rd round of FA youth cup live on television against Liverpool FC.

Rhys's best career moment came when he scoring the winning goal against Manchester United U17s.

Since then he has has spells at Farsley Celtic and Albion Sports before joining Brighouse Town last November.
