Tomorrow is a big day for all adult Regent teams with The First team welcoming another play off contender whilst the Reserves face Gorleston Reserves in the Chell Trophy quarter-final and the A team know that a victory against The University will secure the Colchester & East Essex Premier Division title.
Regent host Brentwood Town who currently sit 6th in the table with 63 points from 32 games, two places above Regent having played three games less and with five more points on the board. The two teams met at the beginning of October with Ricky Griggs scoring the Regent goal in a 2-1 defeat. Brentwood Town were last in action on February 10th losing at home 1-0 to 5th placed Dereham Town whilst Regent's last game saw them winning 3-0 at Cray Wanderers on Tuesday night. Brentwood's away record currently reads, won 11, drawn 3 and lost 2. The game kicks off at 3pm and should be a cracker.
The Reserves face Gorleston Reserves in the Chell Trophy quarter-final and the first of two big cup games in the next week for the Reserves with the semi-final of the Essex Premier cup next weekend. The two teams met in the league at Gorleston and produced a corker finishing 4-4 so it should be another entertaining game between the two sides. This game will kick off at 1pm after both clubs agreed to an earlier kick off.
As stated earlier the A team also have a huge game this weekend looking to secure a victory that would see them crowned champions when they take on the University of Essex, ironically the same team they faced last week when winning 7-1.
Come and support the Regent this weekend.
