Regent lose in Border league rep friendly this evening.............

Regent played The Essex Suffolk Border league Representative side this evening at North road Brightlingsea with a 7:45 kick off.

With Rymer, Philbo, Kev Hughes, Club Captain Warren Joseph all rested it was a chance for some players that had not had the minutes to stake there claim for a starting place in the squad for Saturday.

We started Sam Mansfield, Salter, Jake, Deano, Harry, Hilly, Morley, Sam, Clarky, Wallis and Beardo leaving Jake Gould, Lyness, Gaz Evans and Rymer on the bench.

It was a good game which finished with the Rep side running out 4-2 winners.

goals from regent came from Sam Holman who smashed home after 20 minutes to make it 1-0, shortly after we conceeded after the keeper Mansfield made a goalkeeping howler and then deano missed a penalty on the brik of half time before they went up the other end and scored making it 2-1.

Second half they were the better side as Jake Gould and Gaz Evans got the chance to play centre mid and lyness got a valuable 45 as he impressed in the hole scoring a good goal smashing home from 12 yards.

We defended poorly second half and they scored another 2 and could have been more as we pushed forward and they caught us well on the break.

A valuable game as we saw who is now ready and some that are a distance off, Saturday its the cup away V Cornard united as some of the big guns return.....!!!!!!!!!!!
