Brightlingsea Regent make the trip to Thetford Town on Saturday for their latest league game looking to bounce back from their FA Vase exit last week. The midweek game also caused more frustration with another postponement but this time not because of the wet weather for once, both Regent and FC Clacton were warming up when the game was postponed by the Referee due to one of the FC Clacton floodlights being out. Webster is without Kevin Hughes now for 2/3 weeks, he underwent surgery today to clear up the cartilage in his knee but this is a massive boost for both Webster and Kevin who suspected worse news and we will hopefully see him back in action before the end of March, Webster is also without Phil Kelly who injured himself last weekend but again should be back in action within the next 7 days. Sam Holman who has missed all season is hoping to be back in the next 2/3 weeks also, so yet more good news for Webster. He takes his team to Thetford Town tomorrow, the two teams met just 10 days ago at North Road where a 47th minute header from Scott Yearling and a 90th minute shot from Jake Turner saw Regent win 2-0 in a very closely fought game, Thetford proved their improvement further with a narrow 2-1 defeat at home to league leaders Hadleigh United last Saturday. Hopefully weather permitting this game will kick off at 3pm.
The Reserves welcome Brantham Athletic to North Road tomorrow again looking to continue their upturn in form which has seen them win four and draw one in their last five. Last Saturday saw them draw 2-2 away at Lowestoft Town and this was the same score as when Regent met Brantham just after Christmas. This game is also a 3pm kick off, once again weather permitting.
Come and support the Regent this weekend.
