Brighton baseball celebrates the end of an action-packed season with a three-peat tournament win at the U11 coach pitch national championships!

As we look towards some exciting MLB postseason action this October, it's a nice moment to reflect on another season of fun, competitive baseball for our club, including of course the amazing feat of our U11 coach pitch team being named as the national youth baseball champions for the third year in a row at the very end of the season!

But more important than the silverware is the way that players and coaches from our club actively contributed to British baseball -- with smiles on their faces!-- as members of the local, national, and even international baseball community.

A big event for us this year was, of course, the MLB London Series, and Brighton players enjoyed being part of that experience, alongside thousands of baseball fans from across the UK and around the world.

But Brighton club members made a big impression on the field themselves. Across multiple age groups, Brighton youth players and coaches made notable contributions to UK's representation in international tournaments, with some great performances in various European tournaments (in Spain, Czech Republic, Italy, and Germany) for the London Archers elite travel team, which included top athletes from Brighton playing alongside new and old friends from various London clubs. Especially exciting was the fact that the 14U Archers, including coach Jared Hendrickson and player Django 'Iceman' Hendrickson, won the European Championships in April and travelled to the US to represent Europe -- with games broadcast live on TV and mlb.com -- in the PONY World Series in August.

And over the course of the season, many Brighton youth players represented their country in tournaments around Europe, from the Team UK coach pitch championships for the U10s through to some truly memorable GB national team successes at U12, U15, and U18 levels.

Back at home, both the adult single-A Jets and double-A Brewers had plenty of exciting games against clubs from across the south-east, with some strong wins to build upon, as well as some tough losses to learn from! And our youth players enjoyed a variety of games against other clubs in the region, with some great successes in national tournaments either as Brighton club teams in their own right or as part of combined teams that integrated players from multiple clubs.

Now, as the days get shorter (and more cold and damp!) and we head towards a period of indoor winter training, we are excited about working with our expanding network of baseball contacts across the country and internationally to ensure that 2020 will be a year to remember!
