Brighton has been a home for baseball players since 1965. In 2016, we launched a brand new youth program that has been incredibly successful. In just two years, the club has gone from strength to strength, with youth teams competing in regional and national U11, U13, and U15 tournaments.
In fact, Brighton had such an amazing 2017 season that both the U11 and U13 teams took home National Championship trophies. It proves that hard work and fun can turn underdogs into champions in just two years!
Several of our U11s even had the amazing opportunity to take part in an international tournament in Prague last Easter, and will be doing so again this year.
The founding coaches, Robin Banerjee and Jared Hendrickson, were selected as the national Youth Baseball Coaches of the Year in 2017. And Brighton made it two years in a row as our championship-winning U11 head coach, Chris Stevenson, took home the Youth Baseball Coach of the Year trophy in 2018!
Building on our success, we are now launching a major Youth Recruitment program for our youngest children, and we're looking forward to welcoming new players to our club.
We pride ourselves on creating both a positive coaching atmosphere and an immensely fun environment for all our players. We focus on bringing out the best in every child, developing their overall athleticism and resilience while also working on specific baseball skills and building positive team dynamics. Most importantly, we teach and promote core values of respect, compassion and good sportsmanship. Brighton youth players are nationally renowned for their energy, perseverance, and positivity, both on and off the field.
The 2018 season is just around the corner and promises to be packed full of fun practice sessions, exciting games and brilliant tournaments.
Come along and join us at two indoor taster sessions on March 10th and March 24th, 13:00-15:00 at the University of Brighton Sports Centre at Falmer (next to the American Express Stadium). Then, after the Easter holidays, we head outdoors and begin our summer program of practices and games on our very own "Field of Dreams" at Waterhall Playing Fields, just adjacent to the rugby clubhouse.
Both boys and girls are welcome, and no equipment or prior experience is needed. Just come along ready to play and have fun!
So what are you waiting for? Come join our friendly Brighton Baseball community and learn the great sport of baseball!
