A bumper crowd were in attendance for the opening friendly of Pre-Season when Brimscombe & Thrupp welcomed Swindon Town to the Meadow.
The Wiltshire side brought a mixture of First team players, New Signing's and Trialists with them to face Sam Prior's men.
It started the better for the League 2 outfit thanks to two early goals courtesy of Keshi Anderson and Jerry Yates respectively. It couldn't have been a whole lot worse though for the Gloucestershire side but thanks to some fantastic goalkeeping from Ash Gale. Brimscombe dug their heels in a stayed resilient and went into the half time break still only 2-0 down.
Both sides made a flurry of changes in the second half with the visitors putting out 9 trialist's. Brimscombe were still fighting hard to keep the score down but on the hour mark a Swindon trialist made a run with the ball before hammering away from 20 yards out. The floodgates opened with Swindon making it four only 5 minutes after their last. It was all but over but the Lilywhites still did themselves proud. The Robins quickly made it 5-0 and 6-0.
