I thought it worth expanding on the main element I want to deliver. The resurrection of our juniors, the Centurions via the Centenary Club

Rightly so, I’ve had some questions raised on this and welcome the chance to expand on this further.

We've already had some existing and ex members sign up and more have asked for further details. Its a monthly commitment of £5 yes, but only for as long as you wish. It all helps.

Whats the timeline and plan:

  • We’ve let this lapse, we need to set up our junior section again.
  • Don’t underestimate the work involved from authorities, parents, RFC, councils etc to simply get the green light just to coach kids.
  • At the moment its just me setting the whole thing up. I’m hoping others will join me.
  • We need to be sensible, we cant set up sessions for every age group – so it will start with a couple of age groups (that guess what, will probably be the age of our kids!)
  • The BAWA in the past weren’t able to support Sunday morning events, however I’m in talks with them and they’re keen to support.
  • Funding initially will be spent on RFU sign off, process, insurance and set up.
  • When this is complete, it will be on pitch hire and coaching kit like junior balls and equipment etc.
  • I will lead the coaching and invite parents to help me initially.
  • There will be no paid coaches initially – I hope we can continue this with parent volunteers as other clubs do.
  • Cost per junior who is attending each session (which will run from Sept to Apr) will be a £5 registration fee (waived for the first 30) and then £20 for the season (less than £1 per session).

Our centenary year is about legacy. The timeline for the first junior training session is the season following our centenary year raising funds to make this happen.

How is your £5 a month being spent and how are we going to keep you updated…

  • As a centenary club member, for the price of a pint or a latte or two each month you’re ensuring that your club is here for the foreseeable future.
  • You will be part of an exclusive club and made honorary vice presidents of this magnificent club. There are only 100 places.
  • Regular updates on the juniors delivered direct to each of you. Understanding where your cash is being spent.
  • Invited to an annual vice presidents celebration weekend.
  • Saturday, a lunch in the BAWA pavilion then watching the Aero 1st Team and one of you presenting the Man of the Match award.
  • Sunday, watching a coaching session for the juniors and presenting awards for their efforts in the last year.
  • Each of your names will be added to our Centenary Club VP board that will be in our clubhouse.
  • We will also add you into an annual draw for x 2 tickets to a 6 nations match of your choice.
  • A complimentary ticket and plus one for our annual dinner.

How’s that for value? I’ve signed up. Will you? Please support however you can.
