Like any rugby club, we’re as good as family to each other. Bodies on the line and socialise in equal measure.

We want to share how various club members found BAC and more importantly why they stayed!

This one is by: The legend that is.... Alex Wellington. Having had the pleasure of Wellys right arse cheek for pretty much 10 years (in second row of course), I think I can give a true assessment of the type of player he is. At one moment he's like a scrappy scrum half that you can't contain annoying everyone and doing the unexpected, coupled with a number 8 who just wants to 'have a go' and will take a tap penalty before you know it. He's also first in line if things take a turn and there is not many others I want with me aside from Welly in that situation.

Thankfully the fella can also hit double top in the lineout 99 times out of a 100 and scrummages like a BAC legend.

Over to you mate...

I was looking to get back into playing after the birth of my first daughter Cherise. I saw an advert on my works intranet advertising that BAC were looking for new players.

A few very friendly emails later and I was at my first training session. I was slightly nervous and skill set was rustier than it normally is. But I couldn’t have been made feel more welcome. I was eased back into it with a season playing for the seconds which was a great laugh and really built up camaraderie with my team mates.

What built it more were socials that were organised throughout the season. Great crack with a great bunch of lads.

I have been with the club 12 odd years now with over 250 appearances and will spend the rest of my playing days here.

Rugby at BAC and to me is like a religion. I can’t wait for the following Saturday to get back out on the park with the lads.

This is why I have stayed at BAC and don’t envisage leaving
