We rested quite a few of the regular team to let players come in and have a go in different positions.

And as we were playing a side from the league above we expected more of a game, alas I think they forgot to turn up as BAC had most of the possession and controlled the game.

We started positively and frustrated the kingswood backs with a solid defensive line and good tackling. Their pack didn't seem to want the ball and when they lost it were constantly penalised for being offside or swinging (and missing) with punches... We simply carried and and kicked and drove our way up the field. Resulting in a couple of penalty kicks going over for us and their kicker struggling with the conditions for their kicks leaving half time being 6-0.

The second half was much of the same, a some of the older kingswood players subbed off and one of them attempting to headbutt a player in front of the referee, then being sent off with a straight red (in a friendly,? I've never seen a red card in a friendly but the ref had no choice).

We continued to frustrate kingswood and even started moving players into new positions to experiment with the side. Kingswood managed to get to our line and broke through with their 9 scoring and celebrating like he had won the rugby world cup (I guess it must have been his first game for them or something as I didn't think this game meant much the them!). Regardless they converted so we were 6-7 down with 15 mins to play.

We did not have any concerns as we simply headed back up the field and waited for another penalty.......

Yep, 2 mins later penalty to BAC, 3 more points and 9-7.

We then headed back up the field and scored again with a decent move through their backs.

Game finished 14-7 to BAC

After the game we were not tired and it was a relatively easy win, with some solid debuts in new positions for a few of the players.

Nice headache for the coach as we welcome back a few of the regulars to the first team next week, but they will have to make sure they are at training to fight for their spots back...

Looking forward to getting back to the league next week and good luck to kingswood for the rest of their season.
