Match Report by Gareth Roynanynanynanyne

A BAC team who were victim to a hard pre season build up took the long trip up to Westbury hoping to tackle the away day blues and set a pace for the forthcoming season.

The privileged first fifteen who took to the field after much dilemma for the head coaches, knew that this were their chance to make that shirt theirs for the season. BAC received kick off and some early mistakes gave doubt to how they were going to perform, some great leadership early on steadied the bac ship and some brilliant rucking from the forwards followed by some sexy play amongst the backs showed the bac were well up for the game and were knocking on the door early. The break through finally came from some excellent build up play from the forwards which released the backs close to the line for Matthew Alderson to go crashing in at the corner, however the conversion could not be followed up.

A superb penalty by Anthony Bousch Heppleston followed five minutes later and Bac were going into the half time whistle with the 8-0 win from the 09/10 season ringing in their ears.

The second half saw Westbury on Severn up the pace of the game creating a lovely worked try to make the score 8-5, the game became close Bac had to up their performance to avoid thegreat start going to waste. Some great running from Alex Holden Joen Noel enabled the Bac to camp in Westburys half, the forwards backed this up with great lineout ball and a dominant scrum, allowing Brian Parsons to go over for the teams second try. The conversion was nicely slotted over by Anothony Bousch Heppleston to take Bac up to 15 -5.
Westbury refused to give up and piled the pressure on Bac and their number 8 went over for their second try. The Bac made three substitutions which increased the pace of the game and put increased pressure on Westbury. This pressure lead to a loose ball which was pounced upon by the aware Stu Bowker. A calm and collected off load allowed Jean Noel to come crashing onto the ball and run in a spectacular final try for the bac.

A great first away win and excellent performance all round for the bac really set a pace for the forthcoming season and created some great headaches for the coaches.

Man of the match: Nathan Flynn/Alex Holden

Adam Arnott - Captain: Great effort by the whole squad, fitness levels were great and set moves at a high standard. Lets keep the momentum, train harder, hit harder and work harder whistle to whistle. Another trip away to Cheltenham this Saturday who are always tough and hard working opponents, should be a great match.
