The long journey to Hereford...

By Gareth Goosestep Roynane. BAC took to the long winding roads and travelled though the beautiful welsh countryside

and took in the crisp Welsh air which flowed through their veins and clearly influenced their spirit in the forthcoming game.

After the long journey Bac stepped off the bus to discover that we had forgotten the team kit. Much to Alex Wellington’s disappointment about playing in the buff, the team quickly stepped in to represent Hereford ladies.

The game kicked off and Bac wore the ferocious Greyhound storm before finally the pack drove though for Jerome to open the scoring. Bac then opened fire and although some aggressive resistance from greyhounds it was not enough to prevent bac scoring again. This was then converted by outside half Sam Shep who five minutes later slotted over a penalty conceded from the immense pressure from the big Bac pack.

Bac went in at half time with a comfortable 15-0 victory. Rallying calls for the bonus point from the wizard on the sideline dreaming of a bonus point inspired Bac to raise the game going into the second half.
The second half was just as intense as the first this allowed hat trick hero Jerome to seal the victory for Bac.

Greyhounds saw a comeback and a tight defence managed to only allow only one converted try to leak through. Chris Gibbons returned to the field calm and collected and the bonus point efforts were resumed. Finally after some great rugby the Bac went over for the final bonus point try winning the game 27-7.

A great win for the Bac on the road to a Greyhounds team that we had not beaten at their place.

Post match interview with Stu Bo...
What did you enjoy about the game Mr Bowker?
“My main highlight of the game was when I was on shandy boys shoulder and he passed me the ball I was going in for a try in the corner, all I had to do was chip the ball over the top into the corner. Unfortunately I had a flashback of the Westbury game and decided that I should not kick the ball this time round.”
Who do you think played well Mr Bowker?
“I think Jerome had a good game but I would have scored 6 if I was no 8. I thought new boy Joe Curran had a fantastic game along with fellow debutant Arsha. And obviously myself for the organisation of the defensive efforts.”

Captains Comments:

Certainly an interesting perspective on the game from Mr Bowker! Should have gone to specsavers I think is the phrase...

We all knew we had a point to prove, esp the pack. Im really pleased that we turned up with the right attitude and came out of the blocks from the first whistle. The backs soaked up every kick and their oppo's attacking lines and the pack rucked and mauled and we all got the rewards.

This week the effort and intensity needs to be higher, faster and harder. I know we've all got much more in the tank and need that on the pitch at 3pm Saturday. Home game fellas - we dont lose.

Well done to the 2nds too - great result!

Cheers

Adam
