New Coach Announced

Ricky Jones

Richard Bignell has agreed to take over as Head coach for the 2026/27 season.

Former rugby player for Bristol, Moseley, Coventry and Weston Super Mare, Richard comes to Imperial RFC with great experience. He specialises in sport rehabilitation and is a passionate rugby fanatic to boot. The former Colstons graduate has benefited from England schoolboy caps as an openside flanker. His philosophy of earning the right, being brave, and being accurate has been highlighted at the first players meeting of the season. He continues the work of Kevin Maggs (former Irish International Centre, and Irish IQ development officer) by helping to raise the standard of rugby at Imperial RFC. He is looking forward to the challenge of building a new player identity at the club and has big ambitions of building for the future. The club will benefit from the first batch of colts players joining the senior set up this season. Cody Hodge, Cooper Hickery, Harry Hucker, Ollie Borsay, Theo Godfrey, and Kobe Joe all showing promise and attended the recent players meeting. This will be the first time in 20 years that a colts section has gone on to play for the senior set up. It does not stop there, Gary Kitchen's under 16s now merge with the colts section to bolster the squad ran by Dean Hucker and Jake Andrews. This is a great achievement for the club and grassroots rugby. Exiting times ahead for the club players and supporters, we look forward to seeing you there!

If you are interested in playing/supporting please get in touch with the club.
