Coach James and the boys turned up to their first league match excited, in their new smart training jackets, but unfortunately lost to a good Ashton Boys team in a closely fought 8-9(5-4HT) defeat. 
 
5 different players got their name on the scoresheet, with some well worked goals. But it was a last minute long distance goal that won the game for Ashton Boys. 
 
This was a very good, evenly fought match, which our team created many chances and played very well. With a bit more luck this would have been a winning start.
