The first match of the season in the SCFL Premier Division and The Bears are on the road to Hassocks, one of my favourite grounds to visit.
We did manage to visit the Beacon last season, one of only 6 league matches that we did manage to play before we forced into Lockdown and a premature end to the season, the match was played on the 8th December and we came away with all 3 points with Mark Zydonik scoring the only goal of the game.
Heath Manager Chris Simmons has managed to keep hold of most of last season's squad with the only regular leaving the club being that of Jamie Robinson, who after 18 years with the club as boy and man, has decided to move elsewhere, we wish him well and hope it won't be too long before he gets home sick and wants to return. Several new players have joined the club and a few will almost certainly be in the squad for the game, we wish them all a healthy and successful future at Broadbridge Heath F.C.
After the game the club at Broadbridge Heath will be open, where we can discuss the days events over a pint or two of Bears Bitter and look forward to our first home match on Tuesday when The Lions of Pagham visit The Countryside Stadium.
Come On You Bears!
