Broddy hopes for the new season were high after an encouraging pre-season for all our teams, as the Doncaster Junior League kicked off on a warm and sunny Sunday in Doncaster.
Disappointingly only our U13s started the season with a win, they came out 12-0 winners at home to SESKU Miners. Brogan Horniman bagged an opening day four goals with Jack Chatterton, Jae Hudson, Jay Wagstaff, Max Millburn and Bradley Herd completing the rout. The visiters struggled to create any chances at the home end and topped off a miserable day by having a penalty saved.
U12s played away at Premier League rivals Armthorpe Green and went into an early lead through a well taken penalty by Toby Andrew. The game was closely fought with Adam Morrison adding a second levelling the scores at 2-2, by the final whistle the home team were outright winners with a deserved 5-2 victory.
U16s were beaten away at Hemsworth Terriers losing 3-2. The scores were level at half time 1-1 despite the Broddy dominating the play against last seasons cup winners. The second half saw Brodsworth again go back into the lead 1-2 and continue to dominate the half but agonisingly conceded two goals in the last five minutes. Jamie Robinson and Mathew Fairham scored for the away team.
Early days in a long season, keep up the hard work lads,
