Another poor performance saw the Brook lose 3-1 at home against Knaphill.

Injuries,Work Commitments & Non Availability once again meant the Brook took the field with a much changed team to the previous match & to be honest it showed.

The only positive was the performance of Mourad Jarraz who joined the Brook from Walton & Hersham this week & immediately gave a performance that several of the team would do well to copy. His energy & eye for goal was seen in the 10th minute when he broke down the left but his shot was well blocked by Knaphill's keeper Max Roffey.

Knaphill took the lead in the 31st minute when a corner from the right was allowed to reach Jack Collins one of the visitors smallest players who had the simple job of heading home.0-1

This set back seemed to wake up the Brook who for the next 10/12 minutes played some football trying to get back into the match & again it was Jarraz who stood out, twice forcing Roffey into making good saves.
It was Jarraz who was prominent in making the Brook's equalizer when on 43 minutes he played the ball out to Harry Bishop on the left who then beat the full back & played a hard low ball across the area where Knaphill's Timmy Taylor slid into try & clear but only succeeded in putting the ball into his own net.1-1

The curse of conceding an early 2nd half goal hit the Brook yet again as in the 54th minute Danny Taylor
benefitted from the Brook giving the ball away to regain the lead for the visitors.1-2

In the next 20 minutes the Brook made 3 substitues trying to get the equalizer but although they were playing with more purpose, with the exception of Jarraz,Kharas & Dean McDonnell no one seemed likely to score.Knaphill secured the points in the 86th minute when the ball was played out to the left where Timmy Taylor found himself unmarked in acres of space & hit a good shot past Kennedy.1-3

The Brook tried to close the gap but it was to little to late & the final whistle went with the Brook beaten 3-1 & still stuck 2nd from bottom in the league with 4 points.

Once again a disappointing performance from the Brook who never looked like overcoming a pretty average Knaphill side & until players are prepared to make themselves available every week & we have a stable squad/team it's unlikely the situation will improve.
