Broxbourne Mens summer league team were crowned champions this week, a position that seemed unlikely following the first 3 matches including a well-publicised beating by local rivals Hertford. But a league is a marathon and not a sprint, so with dedication, strength in numbers and a strategy to enjoy the game over anything else, Broxbourne powered through the rest of the season with great team and individual performances week after week.

The unlikely victory was helped with local teams not capitalising on their point advantage but credit must go to the Broxbourne players, not just the many newcomers but also to those who have been playing on our own Mill Lane pitch for years.
