Rugby Suspension

Dear Club Member,

As you know, the situation regarding Corona Virus continues to develop daily. As a club, we have been monitoring this changing picture closely and following the advice of the RFU and Public Health England (PHE) to ensure the continued health of our members, including players, parents and supporters.

Advice to date
The Rugby Football Union (RFU) have suspended all rugby activity in England, at both professional and community level.

This includes club training, league and cup matches plus rugby education courses from 17 March until further notice, but at the very least until next season.

You can read the RFU post here

RFU Suspension Statement

Regrettably, this also means the Ladies lunch and VP’s lunch scheduled for March 22nd and April 4th respectively will also not now take place. There will be separate communications coming out about these events and the tours that we have been planning

As you can imagine there are a lot of moving parts within our Club, and whilst we are all disappointed that we are in this situation please bear with us as we address each of these.

There will be further communications over the coming days and weeks, and we will continue to keep you informed as the official advice develops further. Should you wish to discuss any of the above, please do not hesitate to contact your regular club Contact.

Preventative Measures
Standard hygiene practices will help to protect against infection and further spread;
• Washing hands regularly with soap and water or alcohol-based hand rub
• Covering your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing using a tissue or flexed elbow
• Avoiding close contact with those that are unwell
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
• If you think you may have Corona Virus, do not visit your GP surgery, Pharmacy or Hospital – call the NHS ‘111’ or use 111 Online services for advice.

Finally, if you or a member of your family believe that you have been directly or indirectly affected by Corona Virus, please ensure you inform club officials as soon as possible, allowing our club to maintain a positive stance over the duty of care to all of our club members.
