Buckingham Girls U13s took on a large and ferocious looking St Pauls team on Sunday in their first game this season and came out of it victorious by 12 tries to 9. The St Pauls team had some hard direct runners who breached our line several times, but by half time the Buckingham girls had gained confidence and courage and were tackling with ruthless efficiency. When the tackles were put in, those hours of rucking practice paid off with Buckingham turning over a large amount of ball which was used well and spread across the field looking for space and holes in the St Pauls defence. After the game everyone enjoyed a slap up tea of lasagne and cup cakes, which went down very well. Really proud of all the girls, they all played with a massive amount of heart, courage and above all, intelligence. A real privilege to be involved with such a great team!!
