Two Promotion Rivals go Head to Head

Buckingham continue in their promotion push with a huge battle in prospect when they entertain Reading Abbey under the lights at Maids Moreton Playing Fields this evening.

Abbey are the last team to defeat Buckingham just before Xmas and will be looking for a win to bolster their own hopes of returning to the league above at the first attempt.

For Buckingham Charlie Smith comes into the 2nd row in place of Pat Ockendon who is away with work. Jamie Hartnett returns on the bench instead of Jordan Bishop in the only other change to the pack.

The backline sees similar competition for starting places as there were at the start of the season with Steve Datchler returning to the centres, Tom Cook the unlucky man to step down. Callum Gillie and James Hulston return onto the wings with Adam Clarke again unlucky to miss out, Theo Mettenheimer dropping to the bench. Dom Reynolds also misses out, being replaced by Steve Miller and Jak Cluness also dropping out of last Saturdays squad.

The stakes are certainly high for tonights game with the winners looking in pole position for the final few games. Buckingham will know how dangerous a side Abbey are especially now the warmer weather and harder grounds are here.

Both sides like to throw the ball around so this should be an absolute cracker!
