Wednesday 20th March saw 10 schools take part in the girls Sibford 7’s tournament hosted by Northampton Saints at Sibford School. U12-U16 age groups were present.

Over a 1/4 of the girls that were present representing their school were actually Buckingham RUFC players!

It was a great afternoon of rugby played in the spring sunshine, with tough matches for all age groups.

The organiser of the event said that the U14 cup final match, between Akeley Wood / Buckingham School combined v Royal Latin A was the best final he had watched in 8 years of running this tournament.

To our clubs credit we had the following results -
U14 plate winners - RLS B team; U14 Cup runners up. RLS A team; U14 Cup winners Akeley Wood/Buckingham team; U16 plate winner’s Buckingham School; U16 Cup winners RLS.

Well done to all the Cygnet girls who took part and who encouraged all the ‘new to rugby’ girls in their school to play some excellent rugby! Hopefully some future Cygnet sign ups!
