On Friday 19th February four members of the Buckingham RFC U14’s got the chance to follow in their heroes footsteps and represent Northampton Saints and Wasps at Franklins Gardens .
Callum Ross represented Northampton Saints U14 EPDG and played against Buckingham team mates Franco Fulljames, Charlie Wood and Max Judge representing Wasps U14 EPDG. All four started the game, and whilst it was all smiles before and after there was no quarter given during a tough encounter. Callum at second row and Max at hooker locked horns in the pack, whilst Charlie at scrum half and Franco on the wing looked to enjoy the wide open spaces in the backs.
Saints had the edge in the pack, putting Wasp’s set piece under constant pressure, but the Wasps back line were able to exploit the ball they got and eventually prevailed over Saints 25 – 5
Regardless of the result all four loved the experience, changing in the main stadium changing rooms and getting a small taste of the life of a Professional Rugby Player.
All the boys work really hard at their Rugby and turn out every week for the Buckingham U14 team, each has progressed through the respective Developing Player programs of Saints and Wasps, and their selection is testament to this.
We at BRUFC would like to say really well done on your selection, it is only the start of many more exciting things to come.
