Overnight rain cleared and the Mitres following on their away success at league leaders Beaconsfield the previous week delivered a spectacle to the expectant crowd many of whom had enjoyed the pre -match luncheon.
The opposition started strongly and it took the first twenty minutes for the team to begin to work new partnerships and understandings.
Once the team jelled the points began to flow with some lovely flowing moves and excellent tries. The pace of the back line and good set piece ball established a solid platform for running rugby.
Bicester to their credit continued to play equally good rugby and despite the final score line this was a hard fought contest to the end.
Buckingham used their replacements effectively and every player in the 20 man squad played to their potential and kept the scoreboard ticking and were a credit to the club.
Daniel Rolfe bagged a brace of tries as did Tom Warren and Matt Phillip with one for Maffu Glendinning. Chris Dicey slotted 3 conversions and 2 penalties.
Bicester grabbed three tries of their own all converted but the Buckingham side were deserved winners at full time 49 points to 21 and continue to advance up the league table.
