Bad taste onesie parade

Hearty breakfast

Quick change into tour gear
Gloucester v Newcastle – excellent high scoring match

Hearty breakfast
Rugby 2 matches – won both (detail below)
Changed and snack with opposition
Late lunch on way home at Carvery – see who could get the biggest food mountain on their plate

A magnificent, fun weekend and I know the boys were very tired, but hopefully memories to treasure.

Rugby –

As above we played 2 matches against Lidney and Old Cripps (both Gloucester teams)
As we were on tour we wanted to ensure we gave all the boys lots of rugby and equal rugby.

The pleasing fact again was that even as we rotated the team we continued scoring.

We won the 1st game v Lidney 35 – 10 and the second v Old Cripps 49-19
Some fantastic individual performances including forwards offering up dancing side steps, and the boys taking it in turn for conversitions and really getting into the spirit of playing “ tour rugby”

After the Match our Captain, Will - stood up thanked Old Cripps, the parents and coaches. Old Cripps announce that Will was “man of the tournament”.

A superb effort from all the boys who were very tired after a full on weekend. At the Carvery lunch we then presented the boys with the Tournament cup.

Massive thanks to all those who helped organise the tour- especially to James who I know spent many hours sorting the fixture and the itinerary

As those of you who were on tour will now know – we were officially told we are in the top division for Rugby next season. A true testament to the development of the team.
We are so confident of our squad that we are also fielding another team in the second division.
To this end we have worked on the basis that the boys are developing so fast and want to play rugby and that for those c12 league fixtures we will be able to field 2 teams (c 40 boys) We know our performance this season has meant that we have a few new players coming to Buckingham from other teams or coming back to rugby, but please encourage your friends to join us as we show to all and sundry just how good “the Green Army” is

Back’s Report - Steve

I think you will all agree that there was some real flair to the backs play on tour and there were three main things that made me very proud.

1 = The passing down the line at times was just first class and we scored most of our tries out wide where we had identified the opposition weakness.

2 = The support play from all was first class which lead to our high try count

3 = We identified the opposition strength runner in their forwards just off of the forwards set pieces, ruck and mauls and we adjusted our defence to accommodate this threat and as a result had the opposition tied down in their own half of the pitch for long periods of the game.

All the boys should be commended for There commîtes to both games as after a very busy Saturday many were tired but they stuck to the job in hand and produced to very fine results.

Very well done to all
