Shock and awe – the mighty Green Army let loose in 2 matches and pulverised the opposition.

Game 2 – Simon & James

From the start it was obvious we had a strong Whitney team to contend with. We started a man down and with an injury this resulted in a 2 man deficit 10 minutes in to the game. To most teams this would have been a hard blow, but not to these Buckingham boys.

Witney’s running game was mitigated by some fantastic tackling led by Curtis, who seemed to be everywhere on defence this week. Joe C quickly realised that if he put pressure on their Fly Half he was likely to drop the ball, to which Joe capitalised twice by picking the dropped ball up and pushing through their defence to score.

2 tries by Witney levelled the score at halftime. The second half started slowly until some excellent passing play between Josh and Jack S resulting in Josh scoring a try in the corner. Joe C went on to pound his way through for a 3rd try and left Witney in disarray.

The forwards held up a final Witney push towards the try line and once again showed great character and determination. One other exceptional showing this week was Jordan handing off and making huge yardage as a result. Well done boys. Great game and fantastic result against a very strong team.
