Dominant United fail to take chances.

Buckingham travelled to MK City expecting a competitive game against the unbeaten league champions of Division 2. United began dominantly though, seeing lots of the ball in midfield without looking incredibly dangerous. City were organised well, which reduced United to shots from distance. United did begin piling serious pressure on City towards the end of the first half though. Hooper, Dearlove and Arnold all hit the woodwork with stinging efforts. United were in charge and regrouped for the second half.

Early stages of the second half were dominated by United but the defence was caught out when a city striker gambled on a long ball to finish confidently. The tenacious Patch Hooper managed to reply straight away though after finding space in a crowded box to finish confidently. United were truly in control of possession, but yet again a ball over the top caught the defence out. Goalkeeper Adam Bray pushed the oncoming striker out wide before committing to a challenge. The referee adjudged Bray to have committed a foul and City duly tucked away the resulting penalty. United did manage to equalise before the final whistle when Van Kleek showed great awareness to pull the ball back into the path of Jack Stuchbury who side footed past the helpless City keeper from the edge of the box.

Unfortunately for United, the could not secure a victory despite complete domination and the game ended a 2-2 draw for the second successive week. A thoroughly competitive pre-season outing for United but the team will be unhappy not to have won the game by some distance.
