Its been a few weeks since the C team last won, but they shown real character and team spirit to grab this win.
Having lost by 15 points earlier in the season to Kites, it was going to be a big ask.
But Kites had several of their junior players on display, so the opportunity for a C team win looked a maybe?
Looks where misleading , and Kites took the first quarter by 1. With a squad of nine, the pack was shuffled and the next quarter was squared.
With another shuffle for the third , the team seamed to jell. Goals flowed from Ebonie and Jazz, and Katie and Amy defended well.
The final quarter gave all those watching a weak heart. Giving the ball away cheaply and failing to take opportunities. Kites battled back to within 1. The turning point was an injury to Kites GS, with 2 minutes remaining. With no sub, they where down to 6 players. Kites leveled the game, and had center, but the C team got a turnover and grabbed another from our center to see out the game.
A much needed result.
