Under 10's Match Report

By

Notley Youth Kestrels "v" Burnham Ramblers U10's Fury

We started with Oliver in goal Finlay and Brandon at the back a midfield trio of Alfie P, Ronnie and Liam with Harry up front.

With the game underway we started the better of the 2 sides with Harry making a good run to cross the ball early on but was held by the keeper. Ronnie, Alfie P and Liam were working hard to deny the opposition space and time on the ball and Ronnie showing some good passes to Harry up front.

Finlay and Brandon were excellent at the back when the opposition did make advances into our half, Brandon making some good runs forward.
Harry up front was making life difficult for their defenders by not letting them dwell on the ball and he also had a couple of shots that were either just wide or were saved.

Oliver had very little to do in the game so far but what he had to do was faultless. Aisden worked really hard and began to show some of the power he has at his disposal in trying to retain possession. Crosses and passes by Brandon and Ronnie came to nothing.

Into the second half and the game again was pretty much the same pattern as before. Although the opposition looked more dangerous and Oliver had to make sure he held onto the ball from a corner.

Again all the players worked hard in a real team effort, Finlay was making tackle after tackle at the right times. When we found ourselves short at the back we managed to recover to stop any clear cut chances being made. A good corner from Alfie to the near post found Brandon but his header was just wide. Liam worked hard up front and some good balls from George and Alfie but we were not fortunate to capitalise from.
As the game went on we were more confident but too many times we found ourselves short at the back so switched to a back 3 with Alfie P slotting in the middle of defence. Oliver made a great save on 49 mins .
Man of the match was as always difficult especially when everyone of them played their part in a great team display but it went to Harry today for his work rate today not just in the opposition half but defensively as well.

Many thanks to the parents and supporters today for your great support.
