Team FURY Under 10's Match Report
By Michael Pritchard
Boreham Village v Burnham Ramblers U10's Fury
Hi all, Team Fury travelled to Boreham Village the scene of our very first game in 2016/17 season.
This game was always going to be very testing due to lack of training / matches leading up to and over the Christmas period.
Ronnie was unable to travel so we had 11 players for the game.
The pitch during the warm up we knew this was going to be tough to play football as it was extremely heavy and with the lack of football tiredness more than anything was going to be the difference.
We started with Oliver in goal, George and Vincent at the back, midfield trio of Asiden / Alfie H and Brandon with birthday boy Kyle up front. Subs were Alfie P / Harry / Liam and Finlay.
The game was underway and we were straight on the front foot with good link up between Aisden / Alfie H and Kyle whose shot was just wide of the mark.
The early exchanges were pretty even with us having the lions share of possession but Boreham always looked good on the break.
Vincent and George were solid at the back making some great tackles and clearances. Aisden / Alfie H and Brandon worked hard in midfield and Kyle was always full of running.
We made our substitutions half way through with Aisden / Alfie H / Vincent and George making way.
There was very little between the sides and no real clear cut chances but both goal keepers still had to be on their guard as a couple of long range efforts came in, however Oliver was very alert to come of his line to block what would have been a certain goal.
Finlay / Alfie P / Harry and Liam carrying on where their team mates left off with some great tackles and runs.
The attitude from the players was excellent as they caused Boreham some problems in the closing minutes of the 1st half.
Starting the 2nd half we started with the same personnel as the 1st we again started the better of the 2 teams with shots from Alfie H / George and with Brandon making some good runs down the wings.
A couple of minutes later we had shots blocked and saved from George and Kyle.
The game ebbed and flowed from end to end but with the defences on both sides coming out on top.
The last 5 mins is where the fitness levels began to tell for both sides as some great chances came and went for both sides.
Man of Match was too close to call so was decided (With the help of the trophy not being at the game) to award them all Man of the Match.
As always a big thank you to the parents and supporters for their continued support.
A special thank you for Dayle and Matt for providing transport for a couple of the players today.
Our next game is at home to Maldon Lionesses.
Adrian Bullen has joined the Burnham RNLI and therefore cannot commit the time he previously did with the team for matches and myself and John wanted to say a huge thank you for all your work and help and respect your tough decision to join such a worthwhile cause and hope that any call outs to help are safe and successful and look forward to seeing you at training / games when you can make them.
Mike / John
