Team Fury Under 10's Match Report

Ravens Youth Gliders Vs Burnham Ramblers U10's Fury

Hi all, Team FURY travelled to Ravens Youth Gliders for a midday kick off on a very bitterly cold day.
With 3 players unable to travel we had a squad of 9.
Our last game against the Ravens was a very entertaining game.
We started with Oliver in goal, Ronnie and Brandon at the back, midfield trio of Harry, Alfie P and Liam with Aisden up top.
With our focus this weekend on quick passing the boys took the challenge on board.
We started the better of the 2 sides with Alfie P having 2 great efforts saved well by their keeper. Brandon and Liam were combining very well with good close passing which inspired both Alfie P and Harry to also combine well.Ronnie holding firm to make some great interceptions to thwart the Ravens from mustering any advances towards goal. Aisden worked well off the ball and got into some good positions in the box.
We made our substitutions with George and Kyle coming on for Alfie P and Liam.
Kyle playing on the right made some great runs but was unable to find a team mate or get a cross into the box.
Oliver for the most part was a spectator but showed great concentration when he was called into action to make a good save.
We started the 2nd half with Oliver in goal, Kyle and Brandon at the back midfield trio of George, Alfie P and Aisden with Liam up top.
The 2nd half started pretty much the same as the 1st with George's shot saved in the 1st minute but Ravens did manage to apply some pressure to our goal and needed a decent headed clearance from Alfie P and great block from Kyle.
George saw another shot go wide on 4 mins.
This seemed to inspire us and some great passing from Brandon to Liam to Aisden who fired away but his shot was saved.
More great work from George whose pass found Aisden but again he was thwarted by the keeper.
Brandon now deciding to get into the action from the back found his shot going wide.
We made our last change with Harry and Ronnie coming on for Brandon and Aisden.
Liam was unlucky but again their keeper was equal to most things we threw at him.
A great pass to Harry left hand-side of goal struck the ball cleanly with his left but was wide of the mark.
George and Harry combined well again but again Harry's shot was wide.
Kyle and Ronnie were the stalwarts at the back never seemed to be in trouble making great interceptions to snuff any attacks from being built by the Ravens.
To be fair to the Ravens they did apply some great pressure in the last 5 mins but found the ever dependable Oliver in great form when he had to be on his toes to tip a great effort onto the bar and then was just as quick to then push the ball out for a corner before the Ravens could react.
Last action of the game saw Alfie P testing their keeper and then combining well with Harry whose shot again was saved.
Man of the match today again could have gone to a few of the boys Brandon, Harry or Liam but decided today due to his work effort great link up play and a good attitude during the game it went to George.
A big thank you to the parents and supporters and special thanks to Stephen and Dayle for helping me out today and Dayle for being Mr Taxi.
Our next opponents will be away to Heybridge Swifts next Sunday.
Thanks Mike
