Team FURY Under 10's Match Report

By

Burnham Ramblers Fury v Chelmsford City Whites

This morning, Fury hosted Chelmsford City Whites. Coming off some convincing displays over the past couple of weeks, the boys were full of confidence.
Straight from kick off we were on the front foot. Although City passed the ball well, we put them under pressure and gave them no time to settle.
In the 4th minute we had our first main attack, a good run down the right by George who then found Aisden. He turned their defender to get a sight on goal but his shot was deflected wide for a corner. Alfie, as ever took a wonderful corner which found George.
We were now in total control, and any time they tried to get into our half Kyle and Alfie P were solid with their tackling and distribution of the ball.
George was now testing their keeper at every opportunity, and also putting some great through balls to Vincent and Aisden, but their keeper was holding strong.
City started to up their game, and just when it looked like their forward was through on goal, Kyle made a fantastic covering tackle. A minute later they broke through but solid and reliable as ever, Oliver made a fine save. From his goal kick the ball landed at Vincent who played a fine pass to Aisden, he turned and found George 20 yards out. A quick look up and George let fly with a rocket.
We now made our subs, Brandon, Harry, Ronnie and Liam came on for Alfie P, Aisden, George and Vincent.
There was no let-up in our play, Harry made some great interceptions and some driving runs into City’s half, Liam, and Ronnie showed great movement down the wings and putting the ball in early for Brandon, but was unfortunate not to beat their keeper.
City finished the 1st half well, but were unable to break through Kyle and Harry, both showed great awareness, maturity, and read the game superbly.
We started the second half slowly and allowed City to get their passing game going, but there was no way pass Alfie and Kyle. But after 5 mins we upped the pace and started to put the pressure on their goal. A good move down the right found Harry, who’s shot was just wide.
10 mins in, a quick throw down the left from Alfie found Ronnie, with great control and a quick pass he found George on the left of the area, he dribbled inside 2 players, took on another and let fly with a shot.
We continued to bombard their goal, George was unlucky with a shot from half way and Finley was unlucky not to score. Liam made some great runs down the right and was unlucky with a shot just wide. Brandon worked tirelessly, but it was not his day today, after being put though by George a couple of times, he could not find the net, with their keeper making some fine saves.
In the last few mins they broke through, and one on one with Oliver, but he wasn’t to be beaten and made a fantastic save down to his left.
A great solid team performance today. Mike and I are very proud of how well all the boys are preforming in any position they are asked to play in.
Man of the match was very tough, with some great individual performances. But today it went to Kyle, who was also captain, he showed good positioning, read the game well and made some great tackles.
A big thank you to Mr Carrington for refereeing today, and as always thank you to all the parents for their great support.
