Ramblers travelled to East London on Tuesday night to take on London Bari at the Old Spotted dog stadium. Our opponents were in the lower third of the league and we very much hoped to get at least a point on the night if not 3. The pitch was hard and uneven which made short passing and control difficult. The match in its early stages was played mostly in the middle third of the pitch with neither goalkeeper being troubled. However, after 10 minutes our opponents, who were offering the more controlled football played the ball across the edge of our penalty spot where their forward's shot took a wicked deflection and nestle in the corner of the net. The rest of the half we showed a lot of honest endeavour without seriously threatening the opponents goal. HT 1-0. The second half became frustrating for us with ill discipline creeping in from both sides resulting in a number of yellow cards and also 2 red cards, 1 for each team. In the last 10 minutes we applied a lot of pressure which resulted in a couple of goalmouth scrambles but we were unable to get the break that allowed us to equalise. FT 1-0. All in a fairly disappointing result. Our next match is at home to Redbridge on Saturday at 3pm where we go again!
