Ramblers entertained Barkingside on Saturday still missing their top scorer Charlee Hughes who has one week left of a three week suspension. It was a game we hoped we could gain a point at least from and all appeared rosy after 15 minutes when we went into a 2-0 lead with goals from Andy Mowforth and Josh Perry.
Barkingside were noticeably rattled and a third looked on the cards but slowly the opposition settled and clawed themselves back in to the game with a goal after 22 minutes which was quickly followed by a second and third. Ramblers continued to make good chances but were unable to take their opportunities HT 2-3. The first half was very open with both sides creating numerous chances but the second half was totally different. Ramblers were pegged back in their own half and struggling to get in to the opponents half and the pressure eventually told after 22 minutes of the second half when Barkingside scored a fourth. The fifth followed 6 minutes later but in between these goals Ramblers had another excellent chance with just the goalkeeper to beat but again failed to convert. A couple of further chances were created in the final 10 minutes but again squandered without the goalkeeper having to make a save.
