Burnham suffer from two week layoff
Burnham Ramblers 1 - Chatham Town 2
Burnham started and continued throughout the first half with the brakes on and allowed Chatham to dictate the pace of the game, on 23 minutes Alfie May had a 25 yard shot deflected past the Burnham keeper Louis Godwin Green to take a deserved lead and within a minute Chatham had double their lead with some poor defending by Burnham Ramblers when Austin Gacheru was allowed given space in the six yard box to score the Chats second. Whilst neither keeper was trouble in the first half the Ramblers didn't have their first real threat on goal until the 44th minute when an excellent cross from Billy Hunt went unpunished with a goal bound shot was cleared by the Chatham defence.
Half Time BRFC 0 - 2 Chatham Town
Burnham's manager Keith Wilson must have laid into his players at half time as they came out with much more purpose in the second half and stopped Chatham controlling the midfield, on 57 minutes the Chatham keeper Jack Bradshaw was substituted after pulling up following a goal kick then on 66 minutes Burnham had their breakthrough when a long range shot from Billy Hunt was saved by stand in keeper Luke May only for him to parry the ball to the feet of Neil Richmond, May then caught Richmond conceding a penalty. Neil Richmond then stood up and converted the penalty to bring the Ramblers back into the game. Chatham managed to hold out for a well deserved win without their goal really being threatened in the remaining minutes with Burnham's Sam Mead being sent of on 92 minutes for a rash challenge.
