But despite a point, it was a game which certainly showed signs of rustiness with both sides not playing for two weeks.
The first half kicked off in bright sunshine, but the temperature soon dropped for the Ramblers when the visitors took the lead on six minutes as Dereham's Danny Beaumont capitalised on a mistake by Danny Cossington on the edge of the Ramblers box to slide the ball past the on-rushing keeper Louis Godwin Green.
On 14 minutes a free kick by Ricky Evans was pushed to the far post by visitors keeper Matt Powley, but Ramblers didn't have to wait too long to get back on level terms.
And that came in spectacular style just two minutes later as Richmomd produced a fine technical goal - scoring from an overhead kick.
After a bright start to the game, proceedings soon settled down with both teams having an equal share of possession.
And it's wasn't until the stroke of half-time when another noticeable opportunity arrived when, after good work by Burnham's Sam Mead, Richmond hit a shot which was pushed onto the crossbar by the Dereham goalkeeper.
The second half was very even with neither team being able to get the winning goal, both had chances but failed to find the winner.
Burnham couldn't get their normal passing game together and Dereham were unfortunate not to go home with all three points
