22. Trinity Trio

BIt certainly wasn't a try-ing experience for three Blessed Trinity girls after they were selected for Lancashire.

Burnley Rugby Club took five girls to the trials with three from the Ormerod Road School.

And Year eight student Anya Richmond was selected to represent Lancashire in the Under 15 squad while Sophie Gavin and Elona Bythell, also 12, have been asked to be part of the county's development squad.

"It's great news,” said Blessed Trinity's Head of PE and Sport Claire Juriansz.

"We are proud of all the girls especially as they are only Year eights and so they have done exceptionally well to be selected at Under 15 level.

"They have taken to rugby extremely well, train hard and have got their rewards."

Clare Roberts, Safeguarding Officer at Burnley RUFC, said: "Each player will receive a Lancashire rose pin when they play their first game so it will be a proud moment for them. I would like to thank the PE department at Blessed Trinity."
