23. Youngsters kick unhealthy food into touch at Rugby Club

Youngsters at Burnley Rugby Club had some extra spring in their step when they enjoyed a healthy breakfast prior to training.

The innovative initiative is part of the club's efforts not just to coach rugby but a wider effort to educate the youngsters about healthy eating and its importance for general well-being.

It proved so popular that the club is hoping to make it a monthly event Junior Coach Mick McGee said: "It was a well supported event, greatly appreciated by youngsters and parents as well as reinforcing the message that a healthy breakfast is essential not just for sport but your general well-being"

On Friday there will be a session for any girls Years 7-9 wanting to try out rugby at the club in Holden Road at 1pm.

On Sunday the juniors are training at 10am, except the U11s and U13s who travel to play Colne.

The U17s are home to Aldwinians at 12-30pm while U19s travel to Congleton for a 2pm kick-off
