Burnley 16 Ormskirk 49
Burnley rounded their season off with a home defeat to promoted team Ormskirk. For Burnley it's been a very up and down season which shows in the mid table finish.
In this game Burnley opened up the scoring via a penalty from Joe Parkinson. Then the away team got on the board via a try and very good conversion 3-7. Burnley kept in the game with strong runs from Alex Woodcock and a strong run from Dom Murphy so Liam Canning pick the ball up at the back of the ruck and he went straight through the middle of it and ran twenty metres to score, conversion made by Parkinson. 10 - 7. Then the away side pulled away in the first half scoring three unanswered tries.
The second half and again the away team were in control, but it was good to see Adam Lee in a Burnley shirt after a couple months away after his wife had their first child, also Jackson Linford had twenty minutes with the ones, hopefully he will have a good pre season and push players next season for a first team spot.
Burnley did score the final try of the match through Raqeeb Parcall and it was his first ever first team try which his great for the lad.
So another season over and hopefully moving forward there will be more consistency with the squad next season and all lads will be up for a strong pre season come June / July.
