Burnley win on the road!

Burnley RUFC U15's and U13's travelled away to same location and before their matches had a photo with one of the sponsors Lara Oddie of Oddies Bakery, who along with Innova Solutions, AdPak and Sheldon Building & Plumbing have supplied all junior members with nice new club hoodie.

Onto to Under 15's match and everything flowed with players rucking, tackling, passing and just generally playing has a good all round team led to a solid victory for the travelling side. Twenty two travelled and rotation and new combinations were tried across the team. Also returning was Ben Uttley after his operation and few week break, got straight back involved.

Agreement before the game the match was played has four quarters, the first one saw Burnley score via Captain for the day Louie Nutter, Troy Richmond and speedster Jack Orr, two off which converted by Charles Wilkes.

The second quarter and a full eight player change did not stop the flow of tries and teamwork with Zac Hamilton first punching strong holes through and scoring, and then sheer pace from Logan Cain saw him sprint round covering defence and a third try came from Wilkes who converted all three as well. The fourth try of this fifteen minutes came from a great tackle by Orr, team rucking from Cameron Tregay and Wilkes and Richmond raced away. Next points came form the boot of Wilkes, showing maturity whatever the score taking three points from a penalty.

Half time came and little chat of not needing to change anything with areas clicking, few things thrown out there was that let's try more different handling skills, such as switches. Also discussed was to try new line out options and lads to still come from more depths especially the quicker boys.

Third quarter and Cain got a chance to convert a try which he did successfully from a try from the power of Mason Ward. Some little red mist in this quarter the odd high tackle and discipline needed to be calmed down. Eccles got on the board here has their quickest player got on the outside to score a unconverted try.

To their credit Burnley went into the final quarter forgot about the issues and played rugby, Wilkes slotted another penalty and then Nutter and Wilkes got a try each with the match rounded of has Wilkes slotted a great drop goal between the uprights.

Overall a solid win against good hosts, expertly refereed by Eccles young coach. With work ons to continue to all learn the new skill of lifting and throwing in the line out. Mentioned earlier, but to reiterate - depth in the attacking line, however both minor improvements from players who are doing really well has a team.
