Great day v Burn

Sunday the 26th of February and with the weather not being great the previous week the home fixtures for the juniors had to be cancelled. However the Tags - which is none contact - were able to go ahead on a local 3G pitch, unfortunately not built for contact. This surface is great for the youngsters and aided the club to continue rugby for the U7's/U8's all season.

Into the matches and Blackburn were the visitors and with both clubs having very good numbers numerous matches could be played. With Burnley having 17 players supporting both age groups with a few regulars missing. Showing this year being the healthiest Tag numbers playing for Burnley for a good few years. Moving forward any more Yr.2/3 children would be more than welcome to join the club and contact 07988122186.

This week the U7's had a few debutants - Luke, Carter and Joshua. With them all getting involved and Joshua scoring a great try. The side is still bunching slightly, where it would be better if they spread out covering the whole pitch, but what is pleasing is they are all running with a smile on their face and must be enjoying themselves as the come back the following week.

Onto the under eights and the away team looked a decent side and seemed little more experienced even at seven years of age. Then Burnley did up their level as well running and holding their own scoring with Dan, Gabriel and Lucas making inroads into the away side. The Burnley eight did seem to be having fun which is the main thing and hoefully will have learnt that sometimes passing is just as important and running with the ball.
