Burscough FC would like to pass on our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Karen Simpson, 31, who has sadly passed away.

Karen went missing from her home on Sunday morning after visiting the Tesco store in Burscough. Her body was found in a field on the outskirts of the village earlier today and at this stage there are thought to be no suspicious circumstances.

The people of Burscough united in one family's time of need, with hundreds of volunteers joining the search for Karen. Despite the tragic end to the search, the sheer amount of people that joined in shows how many people cared about Karen, and also what a special community we live in.

We must now as a community give strength to Karen's family and friends during this difficult time. This is something that we're sure the fantastic community of Burscough will do.
