It is a requirement, as a volunteer working with children in the Rugby setting, that you attend a Safeguarding course and refresh your knowledge at least every three years.

There will be a Safeguarding course held at Burton RFC on Tuesday 22nd July from 7pm. Places are limited so please book asap.

The course is designed for any volunteer (First Aider, Coaching Assistant, Parent Helper, Team Manager etc.) or coach at a club who is working with or has responsibility for children within rugby.

The course will enable you to:

  • · Identify Best Practice and apply this within rugby
  • · Know where to find support and guidance within the RFU
  • · Identify signs and indicators of abuse and poor practice
  • · State action to take if there is a concern or disclosure
  • · Recognise your role in safeguarding and protecting young people

Each course lasts for three hours and costs £15 per delegate which must be paid in full to the RFU prior to the course taking place. If you wish to book onto a course you can use the RFU online course booking system http://www.rfu.com/takingpart/olcb
