best wishes to Ken Dog

It is with regret that we need to announce that Ken Archer has decided to leave Burton RFC and return to his home club, Rugeley RFC, too see out the remainder of his rugby playing days. Ken Dog joined the club on 2011 and over a couple of stints played 153 times for the 1st XV at either second row or prop. A very popular member of the team and the wider club he somehow managed to drag his frame around the pitch for the full 80 minutes never shirking from carrying the ball into contact or making a big hit. He would always look at the coaches in disgust if he was ever brought off. Off the pitch he loved a beer and is always good value on a coach trip.

We would also like to congratulate Ken on his on appointment of 1st XV captain at Rugeley for the forthcoming season, our loss is their gain.

A special mention to his dad (Ken) who was always a great supporter of his son and would always be at the games supporting.

Ken is also a big family man and spending more time with Sarah and his three lovely kids I’m sure was a key factor in his decision. The club wish Ken and his family all the best for the future and you will always be welcome back with open arms and be a part of Burton Rugby Club.
