He did it! Paul completed 101 miles on Sunday 16th August. Well done!

101 miles completed on Sunday! With my son in law Tom supported by my family and friends. I cannot thank everyone enough for their support, I would not have been able to have done it without them.

And a huge thank you to everyone who has donated With the total over £2600 and still rising, towards raising awareness of prostate cancer and men getting checked early!!. Thanks again to all!!!

Paul
I have a JustGiving page which can be found below.

The 2020 Ride London-Surrey 100 has been cancelled, but Paul needs our help more than ever to support his fundraising in aid of Prostate Cancer.

A while ago I informed you I was participating in the Prudential 100 mile cycle ride for prostate cancer. Unfortunately the event has been cancelled. However as some have already sponsored me, and thank you for that, I am still going to carry out the 100 miles but locally a route to be worked out.

I would liked to inform you that 4 and half years ago I myself was diagnosed with prostate cancer and have been on active surveillance since then meaning blood tests every 3 - 6 months, however, the cancer has now grown and I require treatment which has started.
I am fully aware that many have sponsored members of the club during the fantastic 2.6 challenge and that is why I waited until that finished, before asking if anyone was able to sponsor me no matter how small I would be extremely grateful.

I know friends, ex colleagues and members of the club who have gone through the trauma of prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment and my aim is to raise awareness of early health checks for a cancer which is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the country. The data, obtained through Public Health England, re the increase is thought to be due to more men having these health checks

Even if there are no symptoms men, especially over 50 years of age, although it can be caught earlier, should request a check through their GP in order for any issues to be diagnosed at the earliest opportunity so possibly saving lives.

Your donations will go towards further research in an effort to eradicate this cancer. Thank you in anticipation for your support.

Thank you and hope for us all to be able to see relatives and friends soon.
Stay safe everyone or rather stay alert!!!!
Paul Harris
