Sileby Town v Burton Womens team.

The ladies team with some players injured and others unavailable could only muster 14 to field against Sileby, after some re-jigging which saw props in the backrow and back row in the backs off we went. Sileby a well drilled side scored their first off a scum in our 22m, had we an No 8 in place, it might have been defended. 15 minutes in we lost another player, down to 13 and 10 minutes after that we went down to 12 players. Pragmatism was the order of the day, we conceded the result and Sileby gave us some players so a 15 v 15 game could be undertaken. The game was played out and Sileby worthy winners. Massive credit needs go the Burton players for some decent rugby with half the team out of position and even better all the players displaying some real dog and grit fighting till the final whistle, Tyia, and Ange in particular absolute warriors. The good news is after taking two hefty defeats in the last 2 games, Burton were very competitive in both and the score lines don't reflect the nature of contests. I would like to think once we get every one back and fit we can give a better account of ourselves and get a couple of wins under our belts.
