Trentham U16's v Burton U16's

Burton travelled to Trentham for the first game of 2019, and played on the sloping main pitch in front of the clubhouse. Burton were aware that Trentham had a big strong pack and set out to play a wider more expansive game than normal and that's exactly what they did. Burton's pack were on it and set the backs up with good clean ball and the backs used this to good effect. Joe J the first to score with a great kick return down the touch line, Steve who got a hat-trick scored his first again after some quick hands and straight running, this followed by 1 from Mitch playing on the wing for a change and another from Steve out wide. Jack M converting from wide out. Halftime Score 22 v 0.
The 2nd half saw Burton playing down the slope and although they created plenty of chances they didn't capitalise on these as well as they had on the first half, however the defence has still very good and the intent was there. Marcus did cross for a score half way through the 2nd half followed by another from Steve the last one converted by Jack M. Final score 0 v 34.
A big hand the both Henry /Owen for playing a half for Trentham. Positives from a Burton perceptive, good hands, good hitting up in the middle and clean line out and scrum against a big pack. Good preparation for Walsall next week in our final league game.
